It is fireworks time once again! The Logan Band and Color Guard Boosters fireworks booth will be open in just one week on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.
This is an annual fundraising event and it is the Boosters' biggest fund raiser for the year. All proceeds directly benefit the James Logan High School Band and Color Guard programs. Celebrate Independence Day and support us at the same time by buying your fireworks at our booth. You can also help us by spreading the word. If you know of anyone who is buying fireworks, please send them over to buy from us.
All booths look alike! Make sure you are at the correct one! Our booth is located in the Rite Aid and Seafood City parking lot on Alvarado Boulevard between Dyer Street and Fair Ranch Road. The address and hours of operation are:
31820 Alvarado Boulevard
Union City, CA 94587
- Wed, July 1 (12:00 noon to 10:00 PM)
- Thu, July 2 (9:00 AM to 10:00 PM)
- Fri, July 3 (9:00 AM to 10:00 PM)
- Sat, July 4 (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM)
We are also looking for many volunteers to help run the booth! No experience necessary. This is a good chance for you to help in a major fundraising event and have some fun with the other boosters. Look for an email message from the VolunteerSpot and follow its directions to sign up for one or more of the available positions. If you did not receive or cannot find your VolunteerSpot message, please send an email message to “firstname.lastname@example.org” expressing your interest to volunteer and help.
Your purchases of fireworks from us are greatly appreciated!
Have a safe and fun Independence Day!
You dine at Tomatina and they will donate to the Logan Band and Color Guard Boosters! How easy is that? Come join your fellow boosters this Wednesday at our next dining out fundraiser. Details as follows:Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2015
Time: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
32155 Union Landing Blvd
Union City, CA
Take your families and friends and discover the new Tomatina restaurant located in Union Landing, directly across from the theater. Print out the flyer (click here) and present it to your server. Then, enjoy your meal! Tomatina will calculate and donate 15% of your total bill to the Boosters! This is not an organized event so just gather up your crew and go between 11:00 AM and 10:00 PM. You will very likely see other Logan families there, especially around dinner time. Takeout orders also count so make sure you present our flyer when you pick up your food.
Participation is not limited to the Band and Color Guard families. Please give our flyer to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. and encourage them to also “Dine and Donate” and support our Band and Color Guard.

The Northern California Percussion Alliance (NCPA) Championships is this Saturday (4/4/2015). The full schedule and list of performers is available in the links below.
As usual for an event of this size and importance, we are putting out a call for volunteers. It is you, our Band and Color Guard Boosters, who make these events a success. Please look for an email message from VolunteerSpot and follow the directions to sign up for one (or more) of the available positions. They include:
- Parking lots – Provide parking directions to arriving percussion units
- Crosswalk – Ensure a safe crossing between the parking lot and the Pavilion
- Check-in – Welcome the guard directors, provide information and directions
- Entries and exits – Collect tickets, direct and sequence percussion units to their performance
- Snack bar – Sell snacks and drinks, cook and prepare hot foods
- Hospitality – Staff the hospitality suite for judges and directors
- First-aid – It's all fun and games until someone breaks a nail
- Student volunteers – Run materials to judges, fill in where needed (community service hours)
If you have not received a VolunteerSpot message and want to volunteer, please contact Alisha at "email@example.com" for more information.
Our Hospitality Suite is also in need of food donations. The suite is available to the judges and directors and it is a place where they can rest and enjoy some food and refreshments during their breaks. Logan is known for the best in hospitality so please help us uphold this tradition by sharing some of your favorite foods and dishes with our visiting guests. Here are some examples:
- Hot food items for dinner (e.g.: pancit, sushi bake, any favorite hot food items, etc.)
- Finger foods and desserts (e.g.: lumpia, shrimp balls, samosa, tempura, wraps, cookies, cakes, brownies, fruit salad, etc.)
- Snacks (e.g.: peanut M&M's, chocolate bars, etc.)
- Drinks (e.g., water and soda, etc.)
If you are donating food or drinks, please contact Gigi at "firstname.lastname@example.org" in advance and let her know what you will be bringing.
Thanks in advance for everyone participation!
